  • RUCKUS On The RADIO

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Ruckus Rob or just simply Ruckus (as he is known by the people that love him most) came onto the punk scene in the 80's while in his early teens and hasn't missed a day since. Back then Las Vegas was a "small town" of less than 170,000 people and you could drive anywhere in the entire Las Vegas Valley in just 20min (or less!!!). Compare that to today's Valley wide population of nearly 2 million. Not only has the city Ruckus calls home grown but so has his reputation and celebrity as a true punk rock legend. Just ask a few of the people he's called friends over the last 30 years: Jack Grisham (TSOL), Fat Mike, (NOFX) ), Shaku Keiji (The Heiz), Todd Sampson (MIA), Lee Ving (FEAR) just to name a few. For the past 17 years he has been performing regularly with Dirk Vermin (owner and artist at Pussykat Tattoo) and Turbo Proctor as the bass player in The Vermin, who are commonly referred to as the Punk Rock Rat Pack. You can also find him bartending at the world famous Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas several nights / mornings (in Las Vegas who can say when one stops and the other starts!) a week. In September 2008 when I approached Ruckus about working with me on an AM radio show focused on local music he (with his usual "I'm the hugest music fan in the world" persona) didn't hesitate to lend a hand and actually covered our asses by bringing in a CD full of local music when our orignial disc took a crap. The show must go on! He was on our 1 hour Friday night program for just over a month and saw our transition from the terrestrial "Mohawk Radio" on KLAV 1230AM to the now popular internet "Double Down Radio" when his personal schedule changed and he was no longer available on Friday nights. Well it took me a few years, but I finally found a way to capture Ruckus AND his huge record collection by going to where he and his records are!
