The SDK allows you to build and run Node.js-based mobile backends. This gives you the full power of Node.js without sacrificing the turnkey experience the community has been enjoying. Moreover, with the integration with App Services, you can leverage features such as continuous integration and multiple deployment slots. Last but not least, the whole project is open source (please see the link to the GitHub repository below) to embrace feedbacks and contributions from the community.Links from the show:[02:02]-Chris's presentation[06:10]-Chris's demo[22:23]-Open source call-for-actionGitHub repositoryAnnouncement BlogFollow @CloudCoverShowFollow @chrisrisnerFollow @haishibai2010Follow @ewtsmFollow @AzureMobileFollow @crandycodes

Using "Drag and Drop" in your Universal Windows App | Inside Windows Platform

In Windows 10, we've made it exceedingly easy to add "Drag and Drop" functionality to your UWP application. As you're probably aware, "drag and drop" is by no means a new feature for Windows applications. For a very long time, the notion for the user to able to move objects within a single application, or between the application and the shell, or even between two completely different applications, has been a familiar and popular mechanism for users, especially when manipulating familiar objects like text or images. Now in Windows 10 we've not only brought this developer scenario to the XAML/C# platform; we've also made it exceedingly easy to implement.Today, Shen walked us through the details of a basic implementation. Here are some links to other resources on this scenario: Shen's blog on the topic of 'Drag and Drop in Universal Apps": http://www.shenchauhan.com/blog/2015/8/23/drag-and-drop-in-uwpShen's code sample: https://github.com/shenchauhan/blog/tree/master/DragAndDropQuestions?@larryalieberman@shenchauhan

Mitigating Credential Theft using the Windows 10 Isolated User Mode

In this video Seth Moore describes another benefit of the ...

In this video Seth Moore describes another benefit of the Windows 10 Isolated User Mode: credential theft mitigation. He first describes the kinds of credentials that can be stolen and how a hacker gains access to them. He then describes how the Windows 10 Isolated User Mode prevents the typical techniques from ever working. It is truly a fascinating look at how the Windows kernel group is continuing to innovate in order to protect us from being compromised. The best part for me is how hesitant Seth was to declare victory when it comes to having a bullet-proof system: this kind of attitude shows the level of vigilance the operating system folks have when it comes to securing our computing environments.
