A few people at BitFellas like ALiEN, Buzzer, KEiTO, ne7, Serpent, Spectral and Virgill had the idea to launch a podcast. We loved the quality of the Hardread podcast and contacted the Hardread dudes about joining forces. The Hardread podcast was founded by the members Vincenzo and Pohar in the summer of 2006. After making 20 shows, they decided to join the BitFellas community to take a bigger part in the scene. By uniting with BitJam it is hoped more listeners might get to know scenemusic. It will also be a great platform for musicians to show their skills outside of compos held at parties.

Episode #173 - Waste Da Wax Flip Da Trax Continuing their hostile take-over of the BitJam Podcast, UpRough return with the second in their series of DJ sets. This time Optiroc steps up to the plate for "Waste Da Wax - Flip Da Trax". Optiroc gives us an education in how House and Techno should be mixed, quick, layered and precise. He storms through UpRoughs 4x4 catalogue like a cheeta on speed, effortlessly blending between soulful house and grinding techno to create an ever changing textured sound. Although it's short, it's to the point. Mixing and compiling by Optiroc, logo #173 and cover design by Spot, illustration by Raquel Meiers

Episode #172 - UpROUGH In The Jungle To celebrate 15 years of demoscene dominance, UpRough are taking over the BitJam Podcast for a series of DJ sets. First in the series is "UpRough In The Jungle" mixed by Hoffman. This mix really demonstrates the diverse output which gives UpRough their legendary status. Starting in the smooth soundscapes of the mid 90's Jungle, travelling through to the dark head nodding Tech-Step with a quick jaunt into the Jazz Lounge then ending in the modern realms of Drum n Bass. It plays out like a history of the dance music scene and works as an education to the uninitiated. Mixing and compiling by Hoffman, logo #172 and cover design by Spot, illustration by Jakob Feltsen Check Hoffman's previous mix: BitJam Podcast #153 - Big Beats

    BitJam Episode #166 - HVSC Top 20 - C64 love

    Episode #166 - HVSC Top 20 - C64 love About ...

Episode #166 - HVSC Top 20 - C64 love About HVSC: The High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC) is a freeware hobby project which organises Commodore 64 music (also known as SID music) into an archive for both musicians and fans alike. The work on the collection is done completely in the Team and contributors' spare time and is proudly one of the largest and most accurate computer music collections known. About the Top 100 list: For years, veteran SID fans have debated what are the 'best' SIDs. It now has come time to settle this issue once and for all. It wouldn't be enough, though, to just haphazardly throw together a list of the Top 100. This project had to be done fairly as well as include multiple voters in order to ensure a true average. These are SIDs that we are talking about after all, and they certainly deserve such respect. Putting this list together also serves as a nice introduction to SID music for those new to the SID world. Mixing by Vincenzo, logo #166 by Grass, compiled by HVSC and all the C64 lovin' people.

Episode #165a aka #666 - The End of Days is Low Poly It is with incredible sadness that we must let you know that our world as we know it shall end on Friday. As consolation, we'd like to offer a few songs that are decidedly low on polygon count, and have no relation to such dire event whatsoever. Enjoy these last moments, and don't forget: if you miss the end of the world, we'll be doing a re-run of this show next week! Mixing by Vincenzo, logo #165a by BitBot, compiled by The BitFather, thank you to Gargaj and CONS for their help.
